Pallab Ghosh,Bangla Hunt : Trinamool supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had tweeted on the resut day stating that the party will ‘review’ the reasons behind the ‘devastating’ defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Immediately after the results, the Trinamool supremo has asked her party leaders, workers to attend the review meeting which will take place on Saturday today.
The supremo fuming over the defeat of her party has been facing immense ’embarrassment’ as she had claimed Trinamool with ‘Mahagathbandhan’ would form the government at the centre. Mamata Banerjee had even called Narendra Modi an expiry prime minister and used ‘unparliamentary’ languages that received strong condemnations across the country and abroad. However, in an initiative to cover up the ‘mistakes’ and pave her way towards prime minister’s office for future, Banerjee had congratulated the BJP over their massive defeat.
The party is confedent that their defeat would not have been so pathetic had ‘few’ insiders not back stabbed the party. Banerjee who loves jumping to conclusions without proof has already made party MLA and Mukul Roy’s son Shubhrangshu Shekhar Roy the ‘scapegoat’ and suspended him for six years.
However, here is a rumour brewing within the ‘political corridors’ in Bengal that many in the Trinamool may cross floors and join the BJP. Today’s review meeting is going to be quie significant and crucial.
